Choose a social cause you believe in and use the power and impact of type to initiate and inspire change.

 

Solution

I chose the cause excessive “screen time,” mostly geared towards mobile device users. I thought that too many people continue to be in someone’s presence but choose to not actually engage with them on a personal level due to being distracted by a screen. These days it seems my phone is always notifying me about something. Constant alerts and updates seem to be the future of mobile device users.

For my final design solution I tried to combat the constant noise of alerts and notifications by simply telling the user to “Power Down” and instead “Live in the moment.” The idea is that outside of the screen environment people are engaging with each other, while not being controlled by their devices at all times. It is also to encourage people to go outside more. This campaign is worldwide and affects everyone who might struggle with this issue of too much “screen time.”
